Mission

Our mission is to serve our clients’ transactional needs quickly, efficiently and with scrupulous attention to detail. After five decades of practicing law in Crested Butte, including sixteen years on the Gunnison County Board of County Commissioners, we possess unrivaled experience in handling local real estate, land use, zoning, business and other matters. We also represent homeowner associations, condominium, townhome and subdivision developers and property owners who protest assessed valuations. Our long experience in the community informs our ability to counsel clients regarding important non-legal considerations – such as dealing with county and municipal permitting and the viability of various transactions.

We strive to protect our clients’ interests without “over-lawyering.” We respond quickly and cost-effectively, focusing on clarity and excellence. In the office by 8:00 AM, we respond promptly to clients in all US time zones and overseas. Our office is closed on Fridays.

We take pride in drafting contracts, covenants, easements and other transactional documents that are clear, concise and fair to all parties. Our philosophy is that a transaction that is not fair and reasonable for our client’s counterparty is unlikely to work well for our client. We strive to structure “win/win” transactions and, at all costs, to avoid ambiguities and conflicts that can lead to costly, time-consuming litigation.

Since we do not litigate, we control our calendar and can prioritize work that must be done on short notice. Typically, we return phone calls within twenty-four hours, or less. We are proud that the comment we hear most frequently from our clients is: “Thank you for getting it done so quickly and efficiently.”
